Thailand-Kenya Agro-Technology Learning Center was launched on 6th July 2022 at Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA) – Nyeri Campus. The launching ceremony was presided by the Ambassador of Thailand to Kenya, Ms Sasirit Tangulrat, and the Principal Secretary (PS) of State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research, Dr. Francis Owino. The project was established under the partnership of KSA and Thailand International Support Agency (TICA) through Khon Kaen University.
The purpose of the Agro-Technology Learning Center is to strengthen the training capacity of the KSA on various crop value chains. The learning center will be important in facilitating the sharing of agro-technology skills between Kenya and Thailand. The main co-operation areas include crop production, agro-processing and agribusiness. These areas are vital in contributing towards the Kenya Agricultural Sector Transformation and Growth Strategy (ASTGS) 2019-2029.
