Welcome to the Department of Crop Sciences at the Kenya School of Agriculture. The mission of the department is to train and equip trainees with appropriate knowledge and skills to further the development and relevance of the agricultural sector in Kenya and beyond. Over the years, we have established a commendable record of producing graduates who have distinguished themselves as successful agri-preneurs contributing to innovations and growth in the agricultural sector.

The department is at the forefront in the delivery of high notch training standards in the following technologies; nursery management, green house technology, tissue culture and hydroponics amongst others. Practical competencies in the aforementioned training areas is effectively achieved through on-farm demonstrations, guest lectures, field trips and attachments. Field trips and attachments not only provide trainees with valuable practical exposure that enhances their learning and social skills, but also adds fun and adventure that makes the training experience wholesome and enjoyable.

Further, our strong linkage with several institutions and organizations in collaborative projects exposes our trainees to a wide spectrum of professional career networking.
